Darktable

darktable is an open source photography workflow application and raw developer. A virtual lighttable and darkroom for photographers. It manages your digital negatives in a database, lets you view them through a zoomable lighttable and enables you to develop raw images and enhance them.

Settings

• press H to show list of shortcuts
• shortcuts:
  • ctrl + del = selected_images.images.delete (trash)
• import:
  • base directory naming pattern: $(PICTURES_FOLDER)/$(EXIF_YEAR)
  • sub directory naming pattern: $(EXIF_YEAR)$(EXIF_MONTH)_$(JOBCODE)
  • file naming pattern: $(EXIF_YEAR)$(EXIF_MONTH)$(EXIF_DAY)-$(JOBCODE)-$(FILE_NAME).$(FILE_EXTENSION)

Workflow

Lighttable

• import from sd-card to disk
  • see settings.import for details on import naming patterns
  • alternatively use rapid photo downloader
• add collection
• rate & reject images
• delete rejected images from disk:
  • filter for rejected images
  • select all ctrl+a
  • delete rejected selected from disk ctrl+del
